Eight days after Diane Rwigara walked out of the Prison gate on bail, she has announced that she is resuming political activities.
Before Rwigara was sent to the coolers, she had founded People Salvation Movement – a political pressure group. She has told BBC Newsday program that she is resuming her political agenda.
In 2017, when she launched her PSM group, she said her mission was to sensitise Rwandans about their rights and criticising government policies.
According to her interview with the BBC, Rwigara says she doesn’t regret getting jailed again.
“life in prison was good but I wouldn’t want to return there,” she said adding that “before I went to prison, I had formed PSM. Therefore I will resume from where I had stopped”.
“I don’t want to return to jail but if necessary I will return to prison. Let’s wait and see what will happen”. She was quoted saying.
