Gunmen Kill 14 In DRC’s Masisi Territory

Fourteen people have been killed at Rubaya mining trading center in Masisi territory in neighbouring DRC where unidentified gunmen attacked the area.

The attack took place on Saturday leaving among these 14 deaths, there are 3 women and 1 child of 5 years, indicates the civil society of Rubaya.

Local sources say 13 people were wounded, including 1 FARDC soldier, who were sent to the Kirotse General Hospital near Sake or to the Masisi Hospital Center.

The Rubaya Civil Society is asking the Congolese authorities to strengthen security in this mining town, where about three months ago, more than 300 young people, who were working in mining, were fired by their employers.
