With the ongoing inquiry into South Africa State-Capture case, there is a clandestine plot that aims at removing President Cyril Ramaphosa as ANC leader.
South Africa’s Sunday Times reported that former President Jacob Zuma has held a secret meeting with other senior party leaders with the aim of ousting Ramaphosa from the ANC apex with the view of undermining the ongoing State-capture investigations.
Zuma allegedly held a secret meeting in Durban this week with ANC secretary general Ace Magashule, recently removed North West chairperson Supra Mahumapelo, ANC Women’s League secretary general Meokgo Matuba and ANC Youth League KwaZulu-Natal secretary Thanduxolo Sabelo.
With this situation within the party, ANC chief whip Jackson Mthembu wants “urgent attention”.
“The alleged clandestine plot , which regrettably includes the SG , comrade Ace Magashule , undermines the unity and renewal efforts of the ANC,” Mthembu said in a tweet.
He said that those involved in this plot also want to undermine the ANC 2019 election Campaign so as to produce disastrous results.
“The alleged clandestine plot, is the undermining of our state in its efforts to fight and reverse impacts of ” state capture, ” he said.
