At the time of his arrest, Tuyambaze was found in possession of 35 liters of the gin which he had already distilled.

“He was arrested distilling the gin,” CIP Kanamugire said adding that his tools including; drums, pipes and raw materials he was using to distill the psychotropic substances were confiscated.

He attributed the arrest to residents that alerted Police about Tuyambaze’s “criminal business.”

According to CIP Kanamugire, similar operation was on the same day conducted at Mahama Sector in Kirehe District where Police seized 200 liters of illicit brew.

“Police will not relent in cracking down on wrongdoers and drug dealers in particular to keep communities safer and free from anything that may affect their wellbeing,” CIP Kanamugire warned.
