French Tennis Federation Bans Serena’s Black Cat Suit

French Tennis Federation has banned the black cat suit Serena wore recently and ultimately  imposed a dress code on Friday to regulate the players’ uniforms.

Bernard Giudicelli the Federation president said, “It will no longer be accepted,” Giudicelli said about Williams’ catsuit. “One must respect the game and the place.”

He justified the ban by saying, “I think that sometimes we’ve gone too far.”

Serena Williams said after her first round win at the 2018 French Open in May, “All the moms out there that had a tough pregnancy and had to come back and try to be fierce, in the middle of everything.”

She added “That’s what this represents, and it’s exciting. You can’t beat a catsuit, right?”

Giudicelli singling out Williams and her suit, specifically as a way to incite a dress code, would fall under the latter.
