Cabinet Fires All Staff Of RBC’s Medical Technology & Infrastructure Division

For inflicting heavy losses that have negatively affected progress of the country’s health sector, Cabinet has ordered the immediate sacking of all staff of the Medical Technology and Infrastructure (MTI)- a  Division in Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC).

“Cabinet meeting removed from duties all the staff from the Medical Technology and Infrastructure Division due to inefficiencies affecting the performance of the health sector,” a statement reads in part.

The MTI Division is responsible for Healthcare technology management and the supervision or assistance in Engineering of infrastructure for health facilities in whole Country.

According to its structure, the MTI division is composed of three units including; Infrastructure Unit, Medical equipment Unit, and Health Technology and infrastructure Unit.

Cabinet directed the immediate removal of Namahungu Théogène who was Director of Health Technology and Infrastructure Planning Unit in Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC) because of “gross misconduct.”
