President Kiir And Rebel Leader Machar Sign Power Sharing Deal

Peace in South Sudan will now be dependent on implementation of provisions of a comprehensive Power-sharing agreement signed between President Salva Kiir and rebel leader Riek Machar.

After a very lengthy disagreement and collapsing treaties, the two leaders have finally put ink on paper signing a power-sharing deal and simultaneously ending a civil war.

“President Kiir, rebel leader Machar sign power-sharing deal that seeks to end the civil war,” Sudanese Foreign Minister Ahmed said Wednesday evening.

Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir and President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda have been very instrumental in bringing together the south Sudan parties to agree on ending a nasty civil war that was threatening security in the region.
