By the power and authority vested in him, President Paul Kagame and Commander-in-Chief of Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) has made changes in the RDF structure and also promoted one officer.
According to a statement posted on the Defence Ministry website this afternoon, “The J2 Department becomes Defence Intelligence Department.”
The communiqué also states that Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Nyamvumba has been promoted to the rank of Colonel and appointed the Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI).
The post has been vacant since the appointment of the former head who is now the secretary general of the Rwanda Investigation Bureau Col. Jeannot Ruhunga.
The depadepart is tasked with collection and analying of defense intelligence.
Col. Nyamvumba served as Head Strategy and Policy in the Office of the President.
