Kwetu Film Institute Producing A Sitcom “The Chantier”

A story based on two young entrepreneurs who are given a space to explore.

They decide to run a cafe bar!

Prince is a suave and funny character who is brought into the business by his friend Jeff who was offered an unfinished building to find out what to do with it.

In a rather comic way, both men embark on journey of setting up a cafe/ Resto with the basic tools found around and try their level best to attract customers…

In this space, business, culture, Sports and social issues are discussed and Prince the bar tender is always intervening in each conversation, except when Politics is discussed and he ends up chasing clients who discuss politics.

Prince and Jeff are always in a tense business relationship, Jeff is all about money and Prince is all about setting up the place according to his artistic taste…  clumsy, funny and most of the time uncoordinated.

Jeff is always threatening to fire him.

Tensions build up but Prince is always there !

Girls come and try to take up his job but they can’t.

The customers hate him but also love him, when he is not there, they complain… when he comes back… they also complain to Jeff…

It is a rather comic scenario… of love and hate and tension…

Jeff is always confronted by other people who are coming to use the space given to him by the same BOSS EK who always have that tendencies of accepting to give the spaces to others…

From comedy night,

To music lesson space

Dance space

And music video recording space…

Confusion and chaos always run into this space…

Prince can’t give them money to his boss… he is mostly drinking as well…

Loosing money…

Jeff is desperate to pay the BOSS

The boss wants to give away the space to a beautiful lady who has seen the potential of that space! Queen is to come and compete with Prince as she uses her beauty to seduce the big boss, the manager and also the clients…

Prince goes down with some depressing experiences… but he has to come back into his game and prove to all that he is the Prince of The Chantier…

The Chantier will have cameo roles of celebrities in music, art, Sports and culture…

The Chantier will be full of life of enriching discussions that would be informative and educational…

From economy, to democracy, women rights,

Children rights,  social and cultural issues will always be discussed here…

Each episodes will have its own theme and writers.

Older students of Kwetu, to Newer students

And experienced mentors and professionals will all be writing on this sitcom created by Eric Kabera in order to create a continued learning space of learning by doing.
