Detectives from Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) have impounded an assortment of expired drugs that would have soon found way into the unsuspecting market.
Counterfeit and expired veterinary products worth Frw24.970.925 were seized during operations jointly conducted last week by the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) and Rwanda Agriculture Board (RAB).
RIB investigators and RAB staff conducted operations in veterinary pharmacies and stores countrywide in which they impounded counterfeit and expired veterinary products.
Most of these drugs include brand names like; Lava 200ws, Lava (100ml), Lava (500ml), Lava (1l), Fukkil, Amitix, Bolivita bolus, Oblet Gynecologique, Insecticide, Rapid gro, Carbesia, and Lick Malic bloc a Lecher.
The products seized are worth Frw24.970.925, according to Rwanda Investigation Bureau.
The public is urged to be vigilant and always consult with the veterinarians for guidance while buying veterinary products to avoid use of counterfeit products which are harmful to the cattle and people’s lives.
