Police Sensitises Nyagatare Residents On Road Safety

In the ongoing Police week activities, the campaign has moved to Nyagatare district where the Police is sensitising residents on road safety among other values.

Residents have also been joined by the Governor of Eastern Province Fred Mufuluke, ACP Damas Gatare, the Commissioner of Community Policing, Eastern Region Police Commander and ACP Bosco Rangira.

In joint efforts, Police and residents have painted a major Zebra Crossing, close to a popular junction in Nyagatare town.

While launching the #Policeweek18 in Eastern Province, Police said, irresponsible driving is the major cause of road accidents in the country.

Governor Mufuluke has challenged taxi-motor operators to abide by traffic rules and avoid unnecessary manoeuvering that leads to accidents .
