A delegation of law makers from Estonia are in Rwanda where they are seeking to extend cooperation with Rwanda in various domains.
According to a tweet released by Rwanda parliament, “The delegation of Estonian Parliamentarians, members of Estonia- Rwanda Parliamentary Friendship Group, meets Rwanda Women MPs, Committee on Agriculture, livestock and Environment and Committee on Political Affairs and Gender.”
This is not the first time Estonians are visiting Rwanda. Last month another delegation met with Rwanda’s parliamentary standing committee on foreign affairs, cooperation and security.
The two countries are deeply engaging to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy and enhancing cooperation in the domain of e-governance and cyber security.
Rwanda and Estonia have previously signed a cooperation agreement aimed at promoting technology transfer and implementation of innovative programs in fields of common interests and the expansion of markets in the ICT sector.
Rwanda seeks to become a technology hub in the region thus Estonia could provide lessons in this path.
According to UNESCO, Estonia is a very tech-savvy country, with 99.8% adult literacy rate -one of the highest in the world.
