President Paul Kagame has met with Mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel and the two held discussions.
The official Twitter handle of the presidency just mentioned that the two met without extra details.
Rahm Israel Emanuel is the 44th Mayor of Chicago.
“Honored to welcome Rwandan President Paul Kagame to Chicago where we discussed many topics, including our mutual interest in sustainability,”Rahm said in a tweet after meeting with president Kagame.
Mayor Rahm is popular for his policies that aim at keeping Chicago clean and green.
On Saturday alone, the mayor mobilised more than 7,800 residents in cleaning up neighborhoods across the City, as part of Chicago’s annual Clean and Green Day of Service.
“Getting involved in your local community is the key to maintaining strong, healthy neighborhoods,” Mayor Emanuel said.
Meanwhile, President Kagame attended the premier screening of the much anticipated Rwanda Royal Tour documentary where he plays the role of a guide of Travel Editor for CBS news, Peter Greenberg, touring Rwanda.
