Kagame Fires Minister Musoni, More Key Changes Made

President Kagame has dropped embattled Infrastructure Minister, James Musoni, from government in a restructuring just a few weeks after a sex scandal that was published by a local tabloid, Igihe.

Musoni was replaced by Finance Minister Amb. Clever Gatete.

Other changes made include, Dr. Uzziel NDAGIJIMANA now elevated to Finance Minister from Minister of State,  Dr. Claudine UWERA, an environmental economist, as Minister of State in the same ministry.

Evariste RUGIGANA is appointed Director of Cabinet. He has been serving as ‎Economic Advisor – ‎Office of the Prime Minister. Alphonsine MIREMBE has been elevated to Permanent Secretary of the Ministry in the President’s Office.

Another big change is the appointment of Yvonne MAKOLO, replacing Colonel Chance Ndagano as Rwandair’s CEO from the position of the deputy CEO in charge of corporate affairs.


Then Doreen KAGARAMA who has been promoted to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs from being the deputy head of the Strategic and Policy Unit in the Office of the President.


Charles Karakye who was an Economic Policy Analyst in the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs has been promoted to Head of Government Action Coordination Unit (GACU).

Michelle BYUSA will sever as Deputy Head of GACU.
