Hundreds Of Rwandan Cooperatives Expected To Showcase Success In Expo

Over 150 exhibitors will participate in the Cooperatives expo slated to be held at Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (Camp Kigali) on March 28 and 29, 2018 with over 500 delegates taking part in the conference that will take on the second day

The two day event, organized by Apex Media & Promotions Ltd, partnering with the National Cooperative Confederations of Rwanda (NCCR) and the Rwanda Cooperative Agency (RCA) aims to create a platform for networking and sharing experiences, information and ideas for cooperatives, suppliers and policy makers in Rwanda.

The Chairman of the National Cooperative Confederations of Rwanda, Augustin Katabarwa said, “this is the first and biggest exhibition for cooperatives and we expect it to provide for us a platform to share best practices, ideas and experiences to create a better market linkage.”

“There are so many cooperatives out there that do great work and they are not known to Rwandans. This is an opportunity for them to come and showcase what they are doing in contribution to socio-economic development of the country,” he added.

Ignatius Kabagambe, the CEO of Apex Media &Promotions said that the idea of Cooperative Expo and Conference was informed from the fact that the cooperatives have played a vital role in the development of the country over the years but they lack a unique platform to showcase what they are doing.

On the sidelines of the expo, workshops on day one and conference on day two are planned. The conference will attract over 16 speakers who will tackle key topics in regard to cooperatives and their contribution to the development of the country and the social wellbeing of Rwandans.

According to Rwanda Cooperatives Agency (RCA), Rwanda has more than 8000 cooperatives with three million members.
