Imbuto Foundation announced it will throughout March reward girls that have excelled in academics.
The foundation said on Thursday while launching its annual Promotion of Girls’ Education Campaign in Muhanga district.
“We look forward to rewarding more best Performing Girls during this month of March,” The foundation said via twitter. Ten best performing girls in Muhanga district were rewarded.
The event coincided with International women’s day which is globally celebrated annually on March 8th.
The rewards include laptops and the foundation also pays for their computer training to help the prize winners improve their computer navigation skills which would help them later in university.
“The senior 6 students are rewarded with a laptop and a 3 weeks IT training, to equip them with basic IT skills and smoothen their transition to University,” the foundation said.
Since 2005, over 4600 Best Performing Girls (InkubitozIcyeza) have been rewarded from different school cycles (P6, S3, S6) through this campaign. The girls are rewarded with scholastic materials, computers, ICT training and essential funds for them to create savings accounts.
