Rwandan Refugees in Democratic Republic of Congo have today begun boarding trucks to repatriate to Rwanda.
According to sources, this operation is jointly conducted with the National Commission for Refugees (CNR).
Since Monday, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) began receiving refugees from across some parts of the vast DRC and assembling them in one place.
Repatriation was announced by the head of the sub-delegation of Lubumbashi HC Maurice Moussouravi.
According to Moussouravi, these refugees from Kisenge site arrived in Lubumbashi on Monday. They will have to transit through Goma to North Kivu before being sent to Gisenyi in Rwanda.
Refugees who voluntarily sought repatriation are excited about this initiative.
