Happy New Year from Taarifa family.
The year 2017 was a tough one. We are a new kid on the block, but our zeal and energy kept us moving. We had some ground-breaking stories that left a mark in many readers’ memories.
We covered big and complex topics, from politics, scandals, business, crises, entertainment, sports, tech, leisure, and many more.
We had exclusives and what many have described as ‘leaks’.
Truth be told. President Kagame was our top newsmaker. However, political scandals and crises went viral. MTN’s fine was the biggest business story followed by Tigo’s sellout.
In politics, our exclusive interviews with veteran politicians such as Tito Rutaremara and foreign diplomats were highly read.
The Rwagara’s ‘leaks’ crashed our website several times.
We also rubbed some in the eyes. Our critic of BK’s “#MyWishAt50″ created a permanent grudge.
The Miss Rwanda Grand Finale analysis irritated the organisers and sponsors, very much.
Presidential elections tested us, but we believe we had the most exclusives and bigger analyses. It was only Taarifa that was able to investigate and bring out the truth.
Our story, “The “Unanswered Questions” Surrounding Large Numbers Of Supporters In Rwanda’s Presidential Campaigns, left no stone unturned.
Alright, let us not spoil the broth. We have made a compilation of our top stories below.
