The Tigo Rwanda leadership and staff joined on Saturday joined residents of Kayenzi Cell, Burera District in Umuganda, after which it donated Mutuelle de Santé for 500 vulnerable residents.
The staff joined locals in digging trenches for water pipes alongside grassroot leaders and Northern Province Governor, Jean Marie Vianney Gatabazi.
The vulnerable residents from Cyanika and Ruhunde sectors, who were unable to afford health care were donated with Mutuelle de Santé worth Rwf 1.5 million, as part of Tigo Rwanda’s ongoing efforts to ensure a better life for the most vulnerable Rwandans.
Tigo’s Chief Executive Officer, Philip Amoaoteng, said that “As a company working in Rwanda, we believe that it is our responsibility to take care of the most vulnerable among us and that is why we are very pleased to be able to ensure that 500 vulnerable people now have access to health care.”
The donation brings to 1,266 the number of Mutuelle de Sante cards that have been distributed by the company into three districts of Burera, Bugesera and Ngoma, this year.
